Social Learning

Q: What is social learning?

Social learning is a peer to peer engagement feature that allows your learners to leave comments on interactive slides in their courseware. Learners can view and like each other's comments.

Q: How do I enable social learning?

Navigate to your App Settings in the admin portal, and click the 'Engage' tab. From here, you click 'Enable Social Learning', and choose if you’d like comments to be attributed to learners, or anonymous. When you’re creating content, scroll down to the button of any interactive slide, and click the 'Open for Discussion' button under the 'Social Learning' section.

Q: Who can see social learning comments?

Social learning comments can be seen by all users assigned to the courseware.

Q: Can I remove social learning comments?

Yes, navigate to the 'Facilitate' tab in the admin, and click 'Social Learning' from the dropdown. You can click the 'remove' button next to any comment you’d like to remove from the courseware.

Q: Can I export social learning comments from the admin portal?

Not at this time, but you can view and manage all social learning responses by navigating to the 'Peer Learning' tab in the admin, and clicking 'Social Learning' from the dropdown.

Q: Can I make learners’ comments anonymous?

Yes, you can choose if you’d like comments to be attributed to learners, or anonymous. Navigate to your App Settings in the admin portal, and click the 'Engage' tab. From here, you click 'Enable Social Learning', and choose if you’d like comments to be attributed to learners, or anonymous.

Q: Can I upload photos or videos using social learning?

Social Learning focuses on comments. To upload photos, videos, and to share comments, use our Discussions or Assignments lesson types.

Q: Do all slides allow enablement of social learning?

Social learning can be enabled on most slide templates, but not all. To see which templates you can enable it on, scroll down to the bottom of your slide in the authoring tool. If the social learning section is not present, it is not available for that template type.
