Our Brain Boost reports allow you to see information on learners' engagement with the Brain Boost feature as well as their performance on boosted courses and slides over time.
- See performance data & results by course and drill down for user and slide-level details
- View top-level and individual user engagement statistics
Functionality Overview
The dashboard has two tabs: Retention and Engagement.
Retention Tab
The Retention tab contains three tables at the top level:
Lowest Retention Courses | Displays the courses where learners are retaining the least information, measured by the current score of Brain Boost sessions |
Highest Retention Courses | Displays the courses where learners are retaining the most information, measured by the current score of Brain Boost sessions |
Courses | Displays performance and retention data for courses in Brain Boost. Click on a row to drill down into detailed User and User Group data for the course |
Clicking on a course shows course-level data. One graph and four tables are available:
Retention over time graph | Shows the average slide score for the course over a time series |
Lowest Performing User Groups | Displays the lowest-performing user groups measured by the current score of Brain Boost sessions |
Highest Performing User Groups | Displays the highest-performing user groups measured by the current score of Brain Boost sessions |
Learner | Displays performance and retention data per learner for learners who have activated Brain Boost for the course |
User Groups | Displays performance and retention data per user group for groups containing learners who have activated Brain Boost for the course |
Clicking on a Learner drills down into Slide detail, and shows attempts on specific slides for that learner and course.
Clicking on a User group drills down into a Learner level view, containing a Retention over time graph, a Highest/Lowest performing Learners table, and a Learner table (as above).
Engagement Tab
The engagement tab shows five high-level data points (see table below for definitions): Avg. initial engagement, Activated, Started, Activated but not started, and Slide boosts.
Below the data points is a Users table, displaying a list of Learners who are enrolled in Boosted courses and whether that learner has activated Brain Boost(completed courseware for 1 or more slides) and started Brain Boost (answered at least one slide in a session).
Definitions
Retention |
A measure of performance over time |
Avg Score Current | The average score across the most recent attempts |
Avg Streak | The average streak length across slides |
Avg Score Initial | The average score attained on the first attempt |
Avg Change | The delta between the Initial and Current average scores |
Engagement | A measure of learner's interactions with Brain Boost |
Avg initial engagement | The percentage of activated learners who have started a Brain Boost Session |
Activated | The number of learners who have activated Brain Boost by completing 1 or more boosted slides. |
Started |
The number of learners who have attempted at least one Brain Boost session |
Activated but not started | The number of learners who have Brain Boost available but have yet to complete a session |
Slide boosts | The overall number of times slides have been "boosted", i.e. interacted with by learners in Brain Boost |
Current streak | The number of times the learner has most recently answered the question/slide correctly in a row |
Q: How often do the reports update?
Brain Boost reports take up to 30 minutes to refresh.
Q: Can I export the reports?
Yes, the reports are exportable in a variety of formats
Q: What is a streak?
As a learner answers a slide correctly over consecutive attempts, their streak length for that slide increase, to a maximum of 5. Once they have a streak length of 5 on any slide they will no longer see that slide.
