Testing Translated Content On Your Browser

This article will summarise how to test translated content on your browser

As an admin or content author it can be a long process to test out content on your phone as you will need to change your device settings on a regular basis to lots of different languages.

This guide has been put together to show you a faster way of doing your content testing.

We will be using Google Chrome in this example

Step 1: Have you translated content ready to go

Firstly, you will need to have already prepared your translated courses. This can be done via manual translation or AI translation

Step 2: Go to your browser settings

Step 3: Find the 'Advanced' section on the left-hand side of the screen and click on 'languages'

Step 4: Click on the language drop down and find 'add language'

Step 5: Search for the language you want to test the content in and click 'add'

Step 6: Once added, click on the three dots to the right, and you will see this screen pop up where you need to choose ‘move to the top’

Step 7: This will then change your browser language to whichever is at the top. Next step is to log in with your learner profile on web.edapp.com

I have chosen French in the example below, but you can now see the app is in French, along with my translated courseware.

Step 8: Now we want to get the mobile style view. This can be done by right-clicking and choosing ‘inspect’ on the menu, and it will open up a page segment on the right.

Step 9: Click on the device toggle button at the top

This button will toggle the display where you can put in different dimensions to try the app on a device simulator or pull the sides of the screen to adjust
